Thursday musings....

Ever do something that just makes your heart and soul SMILE?

I helped my son's class today do a 'cooking' unit.

The Teacher asked me yesterday if I would like to help and I jumped at the chance. You see, when I was working Full Time for the bossholes.... I could not help in his class. I could not stay home with them when they were sick.

I couldn't leave to meet their teachers or have lunch with them. That is all over now. ALL over.

The look on my son's face when I walked into his room today to help was pure MAGIC! He ran up for a hug and thanked me for helping and told me ' I am es-sighted for you to he'p me Mom!'

I was totally 'es-sighted' to be able to help!

It has been a financial struggle since leaving my job. It has NOT been an emotional struggle for me.

I have to get a few more shows on my calendar for next month so that I can continue to stay home and see that excited beautiful lil face of his when I get to help at school.

I just have to.

It made me think about when my Mom helped at my school when I was little. I don't think I was that excited about it, in fact I remember trying to tell her the teacher changed her mind and didn't need help... ha!

Looking back now, I should have cherished those time with my own Mom. I should have sat back and watched her more. I should have listened more. I should have told her that I was excited for her to help.

I am missing her today because I always enjoyed talking to her about what I did when I worked at the kid's schools. We would carry on about how education has changed, how the teachers and schools are different and all the typical things that moms and daughters talk about day to day.

Nothing really important.

All of it .... important. All of it trivial.

All of it... missed very much.

I miss you Mom!

That is so great you are able to be at Jakes school like that. Too cool. I know how happy you must be.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to help. I wish I was closer to help you out in the show business.

here is that blog link to Julie Balzer I was talking about, just if you are curious. The one I really like her stuff.
